Ireland outlaws puppy farming

Ireland dog lovers celebrated New Year's Day by applauding legislation that came into effect on January 1st to ban puppy farms. Ireland had been known as the puppy farm capital of Europe.

The new laws require all puppies to be microchipped and breeders must be registered. Veterinarians will inspect breeders and can shut down substandard facilities. Read more here:
