Kingston bans the sale of dogs, cats and rabbits in pet stores!

On February 5th 2013 Kingston, Ontario became the third city in Ontario to ban the sale of dogs and cats in pet stores and became the only city in the province to ban the sale of rabbits.  Other bans currently exist in Mississauga, Toronto and Richmond.

Fortunately many pet stores are ceasing to sell dogs and cats and instead operating “satellite adoption centres” which help local shelters find forever homes for adoptable animals.
